Landfill TAX increase

Further to the Government’s ongoing program of increasing Landfill Tax, we are again faced with informing you of unavoidable increases. To limit this, our policy has been to invest in the most efficient and innovative recycling equipment as we look to stay ahead of our competitors.

Despite the significant price increases the waste industry faces, we endeavour to keep the cost of our services to you to a minimum but do need to inform you of the additional charges which will take effect from April 1st 2009.

The increase which will be applied has been spread across the sector and applied on the tax element, raising tax by 25% from £32 to £40 per tonne.

WEEE - Can Save our Planet

The latest figures from the UK’s Waste Electrical Recyclers shows that we are now recycling more of our electrical waste than ever before. With the implementation of the WEEE directive in 2007 it has become common practice to get the most out of our electrical waste, many recyclers are reaching recycling rates higher than 87% of throughput, due in part to the sophisticated system of particle separation in the recycling process.

The drop in recycling values seen at the end of 2008 have had an impact on the overall disposal cost although this is expected to recover during the first half of 2009.
